Hi All

I want to get a noise survey carried out of an industrial water treatment plant, that is located within a residential area.
Does anyone know of good companies, ideally in the Leeds/York area?

This is not from a health and safety point of view really but more related to the plants Environmental Permit.
I wish to get a noise study/survey carried out so that we can identify the sources of noise both in terms of noise levels and frequencies likely to result in complaints from local residents and use the study/survey to create an action plan to improve any potential "noise pollution" from the plant.

Many thanks

Chris

Hi,

You don't just want a noise survey, you need someone who can identify the sources of noise and provide cost effective solutions.
Check out the following link - this company may be able to provide the assistance you are looking for

I agree with Phil on this one.

Although I haven't used them to undertake a noise survey, I have attended some of their training events and from those I think that they would be very suited to your task.

Have you tried speaking with your Local Authority they may already have some noise measurements on this plant, other than that can you get your hands on a DAT tape recorder / noise monitor - if you can why not try to ascertain the levels yourself following L108.

By the way invc are an excellent consultancy, but may prove expensive for what you need.
