I have reason to believe tobacco in its raw form does not require a CoSHH sheet as it is categorised under the Food and Tobacco sector. (I may be wrong however).

There is a CoSHH sheet for tobacco smoke (available on the internet.....I believe the link is easy to find).

Tobacco comes in various different forms - dust, raw leaf, stem, cut rag to name but a few. Occupational hazards are probably linked to tobacco in its dust form, as there are with many other dusts - tobacco dust is not specifically singled out in EH40.

Guess it kinda helps that I work in the tobacco industry......but don't hold that against me!

I very much doubt there would be. As as far as I am aware tobacco alone would not be hazardous in its normal state. Becomes a hazardous substance when burned (as in smoking it). It is just like saying is there an MDS for a cabbge leaf - although I wouldn't fancy smoking that !!. If considering exposure values for tobacco smoke etc. then this would not be an issue in the worklplace anymore since smokefree legislation came into force.
