The statement "If any item is sold for use in the EU, then it must be marked with the CE mark to show it conforms with minimum European standards." is entirely incorrect. Safety knives are not covered by any of the "new approach" Directives. If there is no relevant standard to test and approve it against, then it cannot be "kitemarked".
