I am looking for benchmarking data for accident rates across UK manufacturing industry for the chemicals, fibres and films sectors. I can get some information from the HSE website, but this is obviously limited to RIDDOR reporting requirements. Anyone know where I might be able to find information on rates of medical treatment accidents by industry sector? Many thanks.

I am afraid that the term Medical Treatment Cases originated from the US OSHA Recording Rules. As far as I am aware, even the UK Chemcal Industries Assocation does not collect such data from its annual member's returns uner the "Indicators of Performance" returns via the Responsible Care Scheme. I understand that the American Chemstry Council has some data--but it will be for the total recordable incidence rate and lost time incidence rate rather than the medical treatment incidence rate. Refer to:- http://reporting.respons...orts/osha_cmpny_rpt.aspx http://reporting.respons...reports/osha_ia_rpt.aspx One way could be to look at the annual reports of the companies you wish to benchmark with.
