Hi All, Wondering if i could get your suggestions... Cavitiy Wall Insulator needs to gain access from ground floor to top floor on a standard 2 storey residential house to carry out his works. The most sensible option is to use either a MEWP or Scaffold Tower (competent operators) however, in this specific circumstance there is physically no room to use either of these solutions. They can not work off a ladder either as this would involve not having 3 points of contact on the ladder.... So - what would you consider a reasonably practiable solution... Thanks,

What is the insulating material? Method of application? Is the house complete/occupied or under construction? Can this not be carried out from inside the house?

Hi Bleve, The customer would always have the option of having it done from inside but they generally say no due to the disruption and for the damage it will do to their interior choice (wallpaper etc..) Everything else is fine, its just the working at height aspect... Maybe 2 hooks, safety line and harness?

Considering cost, time, trouble and effort .... HSE had advised ally tower or mewp but see original post as to why that is not possible..

It was the training course that the guys went on that they suggested the safety line... but i'm with you as fas as testing and integrity go.

Contact a local friendly aerial installer for a shot of the ladder with running line. I take it that it is facing gables that are causing the problems with width restriction?

Systems like "easi-dec" might best suit these relatively short duration tasks.
