Hello all I am struggling to locate the transcript of a civil case that was settled some time ago, concerning a personal injury at work. Does anyone know a website/link that i may be able to use to find such a transcript? I have tried the usual google, Barbour, HSE etc with no luck. Many thanks Faye :)

General question on the theme.... Does anyone know why some cases are reported and others not? I've been searching for one, using that bailii thing, for some time but not a peep.

I have discovered the case law i am after is 'unreported'. I guess that means i wont have access to copy of the transcript? I do know it is Workplace regs 1992 Pratt v Intermet Case 86/2000. Thanks Leadbelly but its not on Bailii.

I forgot to mention (DOH!), that it is in the appeal courts.

Not sure how much luck you're going to have Faye, as the case is unreported. I've searched lexis nexis which I hoped would have had the transcript but no luck, so if it's not there then I'm not sure where you will get it from. A quick google search of "pratt v intermet refractories" brought up the document linked below, which provides a summary on the last page. It also appears as though it's reported in the 6th edition of Redgrave's Health and Safety, but that won't be the full transcript. http://www.assuredcrops..../Profcase.pdf?id=4008115

F Brown the case is mentioned in passing in a report: Anderson v. Newham College of Further Education Court of Appeal CA (Civ Div) Sedley LJ and Sir Denis Henry Within that document there is a hyperlink for the Pratt case, which when you click on it, takes you directly to the Westlaw UK site. Pratt v Intermet Refractories Ltd (unreported) 21 January 2000; Court of Appeal (Civil Division) Transcript No 86 of 2000 is the information held within the hyperlink. I asked them if, the hyperlink takes you to their login page, then do they have the document, and they said yes, but they are a subscription service and would not give information re cost of the subscription. http://www.stjohnsbuildi...2.aspx#Personal%20Injury is the chambers, giving the details of one of the barristers in the case. Maybe you could get more info from the Clerk of the Chambers? cheers Martin
