Not a straight forward question to answer as self cleaning glass has a super-secret-special-magic coating on it.
Here is a quick and very basic noddy guide to the theory of how it works.
A bird poops on your window and sticks to it. Next day the sun comes up and the coating reacts to sunlight, causing the molecules to vibrate and thus breaking the adhesion between bird poop and glass. Job done, except that you now need rain to wash away the loose poop.
So if it’s sunny in the morning and you have a down pour in the afternoon. Hey presto the system works fine. If you have a pigeon problem in the current dry weather with loads of sunlight but no rain, then it will not appear to be working.

as you haven't had any replies yet i think a lot will depend on the quality of the product you buy. I would have thought industrial type usage is going to be better than domestic which normally ends up as a cheaper version. I believe they have used them on cruise ships and air traffic control towers for years. What are you looking using it for contact a supplier and see if they will install a pane for free so you can see how good it is or even if you have to pay for it but i would look at going on your own experience. before spending vast sums on the stuff

Don’t confuse self cleaning glass with rain repellent. Which is a liquid coating applied with a cloth and used in the aviation, shipping and motor racing industries. Also available from a leading motor trader for applying to your windscreen.

I've used rain repellent liquid on the windscreen of my car while i think it works well on the windscreen don't use it on any of the other windows as it makes them more difficult to see out of even when driving at speed on the motorway won't shift the water on side windows.
But that's slightly of topic from the original question.
