Can anyone tell me if metal digging bars are legal when being used around underground services or if there is any advice documented on the subject please? Any help/advice would be apreciated. Thanks

MarkDM. Have attached link to HSE information involving digging spikes. While these tools are not illegal safe digging techniques should be employed before use, i.e Services plans, CAT scans etc. http://www.hse.gov.uk/press/2003/e03117.htm Regards Jeff.

MarkDM. I introduced insulated digging equipment for our operatives to use whilst working around underground services. A bit more expensive but cheaper than some one getting injured.
