We have a change of process whereby we need to lift very large windows (100-200Kgs) into a recess which is 10-20 degrees past the vertical into the hulls of boats (at height) this is a change of process from numerous smaller windows which could be fitted by hand. We tried to used a vacuum window lifter but having to put the window into a GRP recess past the vertical has created some safety issues and one window nearly fell during the trial. We are now working on designs for a jig to be used with a crane this will remove the use of a vacuum lifter & ease handling issues. As this jig would be a lifting accessory under LOLOER it need to be certified to a SWL I assume by an independent test house - Will it also need to go through the declaration of conformity (CE marking route) If anyone has any experience with modifications or designing bespoke lifting equipment Id appreciate some advice
