I would like to find the definition of a scaffold. Have had a decent look and have found the dictionary def, but is there a legal definition or definition within a BS or regulation? Any shove in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks

Have you tried TG20:08? It will probably provide you with the answer you are looking for.

Hi, HSE’s Guidance Note GS15 defines a general access scaffold to be any temporarily provided structure on or from which people perform work or obtain access to places of work either for themselves or for materials. BS EN 12811 defines a scaffold as a temporary construction, which is required to provide a safe place of work for the erection, maintenance, repair or demolition of buildings or other structures and for the necessary access. Regards Steve
