I'm doing a review on my RA system and wondered if any of the forum have examples to share that include an financial aspect to cover where the assmt requires a capital outlay and needs to be recorded in that assmt. I have seen one that was biased towards manual handling but wondered if there were any others? Should you be willing to share the pls forward a copy to my works emal: barrie@crane-electronics.com As ever all assistance in this subject will be most apreciated. Badger

B I believe that the risk assessment system / process can cover all areas inclusive of finance however this is where competence comes in as many would not have the competence to fully cover financial aspects and thereafter suitably link them into a PUWER etc situation I advise caution; Get some advice from your local IOSH branch/friends etc as somebody there should have appropriate competence In my opinion it is unfortunate that H&S Risk assessment is not usually seen to include financial risk assessment even by the enforcers

Barrie You express interest in a risk assessment with 'an financial aspect to cover where the assmt requires a capital outlay and needs to be recorded in that assmt'. I can understand why you and Bob express reservations about 'competence'. What is even more relevant are cultural assumptions that govern both strategic financial decisions and how other managers perceive safety risk assessments and other tasks of your role. These may be recorded in minutes of Board meetings but important ones are usually not recorded and require informationi from someone present at most Board meetings.

Thanks Bob & Keiran. What I'm looking for are examples of layout that would form part of the main risk assmt to record how miuch an corrective action would cost. It's a pity the forum does not support attachments (how about it moderators?) then I could post the example already mentioned. So does anyone cost up their corrective actions and have a format that they don't mind sharing? Badger
