Not sure if they even exist if not look out for me on dragons den but :) I was looking at some of our shutdown work and noting that engineers spend a large amount of time inside machines. These don't present nice flat floors and so crawling boards are used. these are often knelt on or even lay on for long periods. Does anyone know of a solution? I was thinking of some kind of nice soft memory foam on board.

Nice soft boards? What sort of mamby pamby staff do you emply? Sounds like a nice idea, but what of the impliaction of contamination and wear? Sounds like you're creating problems. Of course, a nifty pair of knee pads, less than a tenner and ultimately disposable, might do the job just as well, at a fraction of the price. And save trying to reinvent the wheel.

We've used a company called Easi Dec for quite a few applications where they have built us a bespoke solution. http://www.easi-dec.co.uk/

:) Ok I must admit it was my idea and not theirs and I was being a tad sarcastic and hoping for your response... the trouble with knee pads is they apparently fit between the gaps and get caught. They are wearing knee pads tho and I agree this is probably the best solution. I was just after a more elegant solution and maybe some other options. As i said I don't think it exists for the reason you outline and I think I will stick current controls, it never hurts to ask tho, it must be a common occurrence. Thanks for your feedback, at least it reassures me of my position.
