Hi ,
Can anyone tell me if electrical equipment has to have a "Inspected by" or "Passed by QC" or similiar attached to it after basic testing in the manufacturers factory. Not to be confused with CE mark.

Not to my knowledge. There is a Southern Irish guidance document regarding PAT (testing) on the ETCI website. ET215

I can't refer to any regs or legislation. But if you are testing ALL the items that you are manufacturing that they are electrically safe then it makes sense to state they have been tested with a sticker as it will make the consumer confident the product is safe for very little cost of the stickers. But if you only sample test items then sticking labels on all items in my view would not be right only those that have been tested should be labelled.

The labels that I think that you are refering to are for quality control reference, identifying the line or person who checked the item after manufacture. In the UK there is no requirement to have a formal QA system in place such as ISO 9001/2. That may not apply to all EU states.

IMHO NO! However, it may be a requirement of a 9001/14001 system to ensure traceability.
