Challenging times demands positive action!

After completing my Diploma I am soon to be upgraded from Tech IOSH to Graduate and wish to start my IPD. Unfortunately, although in full time employment, I work as fire fighter under contract to the MoD, I have no health and safety role within my present company and they are not very supportive. I am seeking alternate employment but this may take some time and I’m not one to sit around and do nothing. So I’m looking for either voluntary work within a company (shadowing) or working for a charity. I live in Lincoln and would be willing to travel a reasonable distance. As a shift worker I’m not tied into a working week. If you wish to contact me or wish a copy of my CV then either use the PM facility, email: pault8207@virginmedia.com or mobile: 07543634637 Kind regards Paul

Maybe not sending out the right information, as a fire-fighter for the last 28 years have train thousands in fire safety and fire fighting. A qualified Breathing Apparatus Instructor so competent in confined space procedures and much more. A manual handling instructor and have been a RPE maintainer. Also well versed in disaster planning and emergency organisation and have written a number of policy procedures in regard to this.
I also have excellent IT skills able to develop my own word documents, excel spreadsheets, access databases and powerpoint presentations. This is not simple programmes but complex applications using VBA and Macros delivering a professional application designed and developed in-house (hold certificates for excel and access advanced programming).

Firestar967, you seem to be undertaking activities that could be allocated towards IPD. You should contact the membership department at IOSH for clarification.
Good luck for the future.

Many thanks
Already talking to IOSH and receiving very good advice and help. I may have a mountain to climb but at least I know which direction to go in.
