Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I recently took a redundancy pakage from my employer so I could pursue a full time career within health and safety. I have the NEBOSH diploma and certificate and I have experience in health and safety through my position as a team leader in my last job. I've applied for a number of health and safety roles but most of the replies I've received comment on the lack of experience I have. I understand i need more experience in the field but how do you get this without a job?. I'm willing to do unpaid/ low paid work to gain experience, but does anyone know who to approach or what would be best to increase my chances of a career in health and safety. Thanks for your time. Clairel is quite correct, times are very hard in this profession. Many Chartered Practitioners with a vast amount of experience and technical ability are not even getting to the interview stage. It’s not all doom and gloom, jobs are available and for someone getting into this profession I would say do as much networking as you can. Good Luck.
