Whilst this is perhaps not perhaps the forum (though has legal and safety implications) for this type of question I have had so much conflicting and contradictory advice on what one of our drivers can and can't drive I'm hoping one of my colleagues in the agricultural/rural sector can assist - obviously we need to ensure legal compliance. We have a couple of drivers who passed their driving test after 1997. They both drive a tractor as part of their job. My query is that seems to have created much confusion is can they drive a tractor with the addition of a trailer (flat bed, hay etc)on the public road or do they require to take a trailer test? Have been on various websites, spoken to one or two bods but getting different views. Really appreciate if someone could help.

I am led to believe that no trailer test is required for agricultural tractors!
