My First Aid at Work Certificate is due for renewal 14th November -- the earliest course I can attend because of work commitments would be the 18th of November. I am told that because I would not have attended a 'refresher' course within the three years that I would have to repeat the FAAW course (3 days minimum) from scratch. I thought there might have been some 'grace time' -- can anyone provide advice.

Hi Stoatie42; I am fairly certain that there is now a months 'grace' after your expiry date (this has changed recently there did not used to be this facility), and that you can do a course up to 3 months in advance of your expiry, why don't you try a different provider if your current one is being awkward?

Hiya, You get 28 days grace time. If you haven't completed refresher training within these 28 days your certificate will expire and you will have to do a full initial course again. For a quote see guidance section 62 (page 15) of the new first aid acop. That should sort your provider out... Best Regards, Ian
