Hi all I know this should probably go on the study forum but I'm looking for some info on the history of DSE in the work place for my Level 6 diploma. I've done a net search but there's not much there. any tips would be welcome kind regards

I would start by having a look at the small print of the DSE regs, revocations etc, what EC legislation led to it, what previous regs it replaced - though I guess 1992 would be the first modern one. How about contacting the Institute of Ergomonists (or whatever their professional body is called).

For historical persepective on DSE (the equipment, as opposed to statute) try some alternative web searches. "History of the computer keyboard" points to some interesting sites.

Some of the EC machinations prior to the Directive would be interesting, too, though I wouldn't know where to find them on t'interweb. Some political pressures which weren't always based on the risks. Perhaps a FOI request to HSE?
