Hi i am updating my Fire Risk procedures and prior to the regulatory reform fire safety order 2005 i understood the frequency cycle to test each manual call point was once every 13 wks. However the only information i can find states that a different call point to be tested each week. Can anyone confirm if the 13 week frequency for each still exists or has it been replaced with the requirement to test a different one each week. Please adivse before i review and update my procedures- thank you.

The most up-to-date systems are self-testing and any fault reported at the main board.

I recall both requirements being in place at the same time in the same standard: test a different one each week and test each one at least every 13 weeks - to cover the situation of having more than 13 call points in which case you would test more than one per week. It's in a British standard, not statute.

As I understand it, it's weekly.

We cycle though our nine call points doing a different one each week - so each point is checked every 10 weeks - fire officer was more than happy with this, when we were last visited.

Can't quote the requirement but it is a weekly test of fire alarm with every break glass point being tested in a 13 week period, so count up how many, divide by 13 and that's how many to test each week.
