The Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) has a code of practice covering the use of Tallesopes which at one time suggested that a Tallescope could, be moved, under certain conditions, with the basket occupied. Before I retired I had seen tallescopes moved in this way and on a perfectly flat stage, with no surface imperfections and with trained technicians, was at that time considered to be an acceptable practice However there is now disagreement between HSE and ABTT over this practice http://news.hse.gov.uk/l...-of-occupied-tallescopes

A very lively debate had been raging for a good 5 months about the ABTT vs HSE on this topic on the Blue Room (a technical theatre forum): http://www.blue-room.org...showtopic=40865&st=0
