Does anyone know where I can source a TARTAN safety helmet? I've had it up to here with discussion about what colour safety helmet different people should wear on our construction sites. I have got better things to do than argue whether green is the 'right' colour for first aiders, probationers, apprentices.... Whether blue yellow or white is the 'right' colour for supervisors / clients reps, traffic marshalls, appretices whether fire wardens or managers should wear red orange or yellow.... I mean, honestly, I've had it... Proportionate? Risk based approach? Hah....I've stopped laughing. SO PLEASE - does anyone know where I can source a TARTAN safety helmet to EN137? My only alternative is to buy a cowboy - hat shaped helmet - but these are to ANSI z89.1 1986 Class A - and someone, somewhere would surely pick up on the fact that it does not comply with Euro standards... I know where I could get a pink one, but I want one in tartan... DO I have to paint it myself? (PLEASE don't remind me that most helmet manufacturers advise against any paint or solvent coming into contact with their products..). I don't want any discussion on what colour(s) of helmet(s) you use on your sites!!!!!!! PLEASE NO MORE!!!! Thanks for any pointers in the right direction Steve

In the world of horse racing, jockeys wear silks over the tops of their safety helmets (just google 'racing silks'), so anything is possible. You could start a whole new fashion.
