I'm looking for some video footage or presentation that drives home the message on the consequence of personal injury, particularly illustrating the life changing effects that injury can at times bring to both the individual and close relatives. Have you used anything effective and would recommend?

Network Rail have some really good ones on http://safety.networkrail.co.uk/ they are free once you register. They are Rail specific but are really good at hitting home the consequences of an incident, accident or near miss. If you don't want to sign up PM me and we can discuss.

Saved that one for future use. Ironic that they have things like that but apparantly been under reporting RIDDOR accidents by approx 500 over the last year or so, but given out massive bonuses to directors for hitting safety targets...

If you would be interested in something from an offshore oil perspective, Consequences: Martin's Story is really good - about a young guy that was injured in an offshore accident. It was made by StepChange in Safety...I haven't got a clue how to copy the DVD so I would suggest trying Stepchange to see if they still make copies. If not, I am sure I can investigate and hopefully get somebody to burn a copy for you that I could stick in the post?

;) as if. Think they hid the figures before they paid the bonuses. All come out over the last month or so and i think UNITE are involved as well.

I've used Ken Woodward's materials too - very good. Remember Charlie is a classic too. If you want to make an impact, there's a couple of good ones on you tube of all places, see
and careful, they are nearly 18 certificate. I've got some other leads in the office, PM you in the morning. Paul
