My job is taking me more frequently in the direction of Iraq where my company provides security to other parties. Firearms & ammunition are involved, my question is, does anyone know, is there ANY legislation, regulations or more useful guidance available regarding this subject,.

Am I correct in assuming that the weapons and ammunition are being supplied on arrival and are not being transported to or from the UK?

The only legislation I can think that might apply would be local, check if its different for non-nationals. I suspect that it is not specific but you really should get advice from someone who understands Iraqi law. From a purely safety aspect I would sincerely hope that anyone being sent into that sort of role is extremely experienced in firearms safety.
