Hi everone I'm looking into immigrating to Canada, I am currently Grad iosh status and have experience of health and safety in the following industries: leisure and tourism, construction, and property services. Does anyone have any experience in or advice with regards to Canada’s health and safety practices, how to obtain a job in health and safety etc. Many thanks

Brijja Have a look at the recent thread below this one. This has been debating working in Canada, something that I have been trying for a number of years now. It is not as easy to get accepted there as they currently do not accept any IOSH status, even chartered, although the number of times this has been raised it would be good if IOSH could look at reaching an agreement. Jobs in the areas you state are hard to get into, especially for non-Canadians. There are a number of opportunities in higher risk industries and it is possible that you could work for an employer here, but be posted to Canada. I know a few people doing this, although these jobs are often in Alberta, which can get extremely cold at this time of year. Similarly there are more openings on the east than the west side. Hope that helps for starters. SL
