I recently sent a message to someone on the careers forum but it sent me a message straight back saying that their inbox was full and they wouldnt be able to read it until they deleted some of the older messages. I thought it was worth saying make sure you keep your inbox clear as there is a chance that you may not be made aware of messages you send to people and subsequently miss out on job opportunites or useful advice.

I'd suggest that you try this approach when that happens.

Post up a thread titled " [insert forum user's name] please empty your mail box. Once they log on, they'll see their name up in lights, and be alerted to the fact that someone is trying to send them a message and that their inbox is full. They may be unaware of what their limit is.

Agree with Peter, I was just looking for the archive button in the sent mail box, but can only find one relating to the inbox!!!!!!!!!!
