In this months SHP there is a Consultancy who want some one to manage a team of CDM-Cs on 30 to 40 projects up to £200m and as a minimum they must also have a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate and be RmaPS.

Is this a genuine mistake as I cannot believe the standard of competence being sought or the remuneration for the responsibility which comes with this senior construction project role?

Not surprised, I’ve seen jobs advertised for CMIOSH Practitioners offering less than £6.00 per hour……..? I’ve also posted these on the forum!

Maybe our governing body could do more by way of promoting health and safety professionals.
Many employers don’t know of IOSH or what CMIOSH is or how hard individuals have to work to achieve this status.

Maybe they have set the bar low so that they get many applicants; they can then pick and choose those that meet their criteria; including the salary bit which may well reflect the market forces at present with many people chasing the few jobs. Alternatively it may have been posted/placed by someone who has no idea as to what they want; and what the role needs/demands?

I thought that the trainer/consultants position in Singapore was far more interesting

Are you looking at the right line for the remuneration. My reading has it at £45-50 K + car + Bens. Hopefully we are reading the same advert at the top of page 73.

Ferris,

Sorry, You are right. The space saving way the advert is laid out has lead me to read the wrong line late at night and I did not look at the bigger picture!
