does anyone out there have any details on up to date guarding on the operators position near the spindle operation of a manual Genevoise jig borer. I have only seen spindle trip devices and portable polycarbonate screens. I do realise that to guard these machines would make normal operation at times a problem, but I would prefer a better physical guard to be in place that would comply with PUWER. Any help would be appreciated and if possible photos of your machines with better guardings would be appreciated. Thank you.

The MTA's predecessor the Machine Tools Trades Association published a number of codes of practice on various types of engineering machinery. Can't remember whether jig borers were included. A google search for MTTA code of practice might find you guidance.
