Hi all
I have got an interview for a food manufacturing company tomorrow.
Are there any generic questions they are likely to ask me. I have checked the company out on their web-site but doesn't give too much info on them.
Any useful web-sites for interview questions?
regards
chris

What do you know of the company?
What are our key risk areas?
Why do you want this job?
What do you bring to this job?
What are your strengths?
How do you deal with difficult situations at work?

Check out BRC, the British Retail Consortium, if they are a food manufacturer there is a strong chance that they are a member of BRC. They have a whole raft of codes of practice such as no eating, drinking, wearing jewellery, wearing hair nets, washing hands etc in production areas. Also such things as glass and metal policies to prevent food contamination. That is all quality management. On the health and safety side it would depend on the type of food manufactured but things that spring to mind are fire and explosion risks from powdered proteins, flour etc. Likewise respiratory sensitisation. Noise in bottling plants or blowmoulding plants if they make their own packaging.
As has been said earlier, check outtheir website to get a feel for the company.

Haven't heard anything - so it's probably a 'no':( Would have been a fab job - would have relocated too.
Has anyone else heard of any H & S jobs going - don't mind working my way up - my forte would be in the warehousing/manufacturing sector.
Live in Cleethorpes (NE Lincs) but can and would commute/stay over in short-term, even re-locate if things turned out well.
Please, please email me with any work.
Thanks
chris

Didn't get the job???? They were concerned that I lived miles away even though I said I would stay over during the week.
I am looking for a co-ordinator or officer post - would start on low pay until I find my feet - can anyone help me please? Manufacturing/warehousing would be my forte.

Sorry to hear Chris but be persistent!
I commute most days 72 miles each way but was willing to show the commitment.

I thought I was showing willing by being willing to relocate etc etc
The job would have been great but the money wasn't brill considering what they were looking for plus I hold a diploma (need to complete Unit D, but have all the exams under my belt) but I was willing to work regardless.
But hey ho, life goes on - it was good to get an interview so must be positive about that fact and will look forward to more interviews.

Hi I do a round trip of 95 miles a day, luckily my employer did not see this as a hinderence during my interview. In these tough times you have to just keep going and have faith that the right job will come along. Unfortunately at the moment anyone who is in a Health & Safety job is afraid to move, I to look forward to times when the market opens up again.

Anyone know of any H & S jobs going?
