During the course of our daily business we can use up to 50 AA batteries a day. Currently we personally take them to the local waste disposal site for disposal. However, as we're a commercial business, should we be arranging for a licienced company to remove and dispose of the batteries?

You can arrange with your supplier who should give you a collection box. RS have a service via a paid for service

Hi,
What on earth do you do to use up so many batteries?
Yep, you'll need a Waste Carriers Licence to take waste to the disposal site yourself. If you get a third party to take them away for you, then check they have a licence because you may be liable for the 'illegal' transit if they haven't. There is a page somewhere on the Environment Agency website where you can search under the contractors name for that (or by area I think), but can't find the link just now.
