Can any one give me some advice on undertaking benchmarking on competitors. I have been tasked with this as a final project but am finding current research fruitless. Going onto competitors websites gives me an over view or the "company Line" on how they plan to perform in very general terms but I need to find out specifics Am I right in thinking now, that the only way would be to contact the companies safety teams direct and hope they are willing to share? any advice/suggestions/recommendations would be great

Have you looked at the HSE prosecutions database? How many entries are there for each of your competitors, and how many for you? If there are enough, you might even rank them in severity etc
