I was watching inside out on BBC1 last week and an article on the over 70's living longer and participating in sports was on. Had to chuckle, showed a retirement home with 2 elderly gentleman playing conkers, one of which was wearing glasses and a full face visor. Wonder if they have to keep the sterident in a COSHH locker? Then showed 2 old chaps who I skydive with, jumping. Obviously they don't reside at the forementioned retirement home.

Was the wearing of a full face visor in that particular situation really over the top noting that an injury to a 90 year old is not the same as an injury to a 20 year old e.g. A hit in the face to a 90 year old takes much longer to heal, can be more destructive because of brittle bones etc etc - perhaps the person was not as risk adverse as we think As for sky diving; its safer than crossing the road and it became tame after the late 1960's passed into the 1980's and beyond as the chance of death was reduced because of the new kit introduced and that was the kick! just some thoughts
