Afternoon all, I have recently applied for a advertised position which would be an excellent step in my career. I am responsible for a small construction companies (32 employees) having completed my NEBOSH Cert but also a management diploma and a HNC in engineering. As with a lot of large companies the application was on line where you submit a profile etc. There were a number of questions that were asked to which I answered. However I am currently attending Uni on day release to complete my BEng in engineering. I put this in my C.V and application letter but there was no scope within the application process to explain that if required a would pay for myself / make up the hours or even give up the degree for this position. so my question is should I try and ring (the only number listed is the main office) and talk to the recruitment manager to try and explain or should I just wait??? my dad thinks that a large company as this is will not exclude me from the position because of my studies as they tend to like extra education.

Hi, If you have met the criteria that was advertised and have clearly demonstrated how you have met this you will proceed to the next stage. I would wait until the interview to discuss.

Usually, I would have waited. But for my last job, I rang up, showed interest, explained my Irish qualifications and got the interview and job. The only time I've done it though, it was very cheeky.
