Hello can anyone point me in the direction of the legislation implementing the Physical Agents Directive for RF. My searches so far have resulted in no joy. Thank you in advance

No :) but I did a project using this standard once. BS6656:2002: Title of Standard: Assessment of inadvertent ignition of flammable atmospheres by radio-frequency radiation

The Physical Agents directive was a monster and the Commission finally agreed to break it up into smaller chunks that made more sense. The HSE was never very convinced by it but he UK did adopt the Artificial Optical radiation (AOR) part of it this year. They are still in discussions about how and whether to apply the part about radio frequencies. The directive would require things like measuring the levels of exposure (how can you that outside of a hi-tech lab) and no one is clear what the health effects are. One HSE argument about this is the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations cover all and any risks anyway so we do not need a specific set of standards covering this. The HPA are a good source of information about this and they have helped us get through the AOR bit.
