Does anyone have the same issues at the moment?
We have 70 employees & 30 projects on hold throughout the country,
1 site manager is demanding operatives attend his site to start work i.e roofing & cladding
My CM has explained myself , MD & the authorities are advising employees not to travel unless neccassery but this site manager wants operatives to travel 190 miles or travel 4hrs on a train to start his project.
What do you think?

We have our own workforce who we have trained to a high standard & have been working with the orginisation for many years.
The weather conditions are preventing them from attending site
Also his own QS cant get to site due to heavy snow in the north of scotland
He has no concern for the safety of my employees as far as im concerned `as I stated to him'

Who runs the organisation? - it doen't sound as if the directors have real control. ALternatively this is an example of club culture in small organisations where there are invisible links between this manager and the top management.

This is a contractual matter. Your MD will be fully aware of the financial implications of not turning up for work and has made his decision. The site manager has his own pressures from his principals and wants to get the work done.
This is business reality and part of the cost of early winter.
