Dear all, can anyone recommend a hand-held noise meter for use in construction environments please? I'm looking for something that can be readily calibrated that will deal with background and percussive noise levels, and that's not too expensive! Any ideas???

Cannot respond with regard to pricing, but I would suggest you try the Casella web site. I did see a consultant in 2006 using one of their hand-held items.

There are a number of suitable devices on the market, which are easy to use and calibrate etc. Parkers Merchanting do some hand held devices which I have used in the past.
