Can anyone advise on the correct location of the green box emergency door release please? Boxes are located close to the normal electromagnetic door release buttons but are quite high up on the wall. I think they are too high, but is there a specific height at which they should be?

Not sure that there is a 'specific height' but they should be easily accessable

The Fire Authority may have granted particular dispensation in (e.g.) a care home for the elderly, but otherwise - accessible.
This would include accessible to wheelchair users and the like foreseeably occupying the building.

In my work and in any other facilities, I have observed them in, they are placed at the same height as fire alarm call points.

If the height for fire alarm call points is acceptable there is no reason to change it for the emergency door releases.

1.4 m +/- 200 mm according to bs 5839:1-2002. I know that refers to fire alarm call points, but the ACOP for BS9999 refers green box siting to compliance with bs en 54:11-2001 which points back to 5839 as it partly superceded 5839. Most of the green boxes I have seen are at the same height as red call points, as previously stated.

Or, I could be talking rubbish. If so, apologies and merry Xmas and all that.
