I have come across one of those 'one off's' it is a press with 4 horizontal gas jets, 1 at each corner to heat aluminium which is then bent to shape by the press
What are the regs for the gas fed pipes, it has flexible pipes leading to it, no markings have done some research without success
i am dealing with guarding through fixed guards etc
can anyone help please

Ian As the machine in question has no markings at all then I suppose talking to the machine manufacturer is out of the question? (it may even have been produced in house?). If built in house then can you not ask whoever built it what standards they followed for its design/construction. If its regulations you require then IMHO I would assess the machine against PUWER.
If you still want additional information and you have access to British Standards, then perhaps a look at BS EN ISO 9539:2010 and BS 8451:2004 might shed some light.
And as Bob has stated a talk with your insurers.

What gas is being used? Have you any idea how old the machine is?

thankyou to all so far
it is a self made equipment made to no specifications by a self trained engineer approx 20 years ago so I have no one to go to
I am assessing against puwer for guarding etc but i am not sure if there are any gas regualtions about the gas supply piping (fleixible) that I should be following as this is a specialist area and not my field
If anyone knows a commercial gas engineer near north hampshire i would appreciate it

Ian, I would suggest that it is not a "normal" commercial gas engineer that you need! You are almost certainly looking for a true Engineer who is competent to design machinery to assess your equipment. Your average gas engineer is actually nothing of the sort! They may have some ideas of the requirements regarding off the shelf equipment, however, they will almost definitely condemn your equipment and almost certainly not be able to give you the design input to get the unit compliant, as it is as you have found a specilist piece of kit.
When I had a query regarding gas legislation and requirements, I went straight to Gas Safe and very helpful they were. Perhaps you could contact them and ask about a gas fired machinery design engineer in your locality who could assess the equipment with you and one of your operations engineers?
