Is there any color coding/ specific color of paint that must be applied for all emergency stairs/ accesses? Any help?? Regards, Prads

Thank you, Grim. This looks like a good document for reference. But, my query was is there any color coding for stairs (treads/risers....landing areas etc). Regards, Prads

Our internal fire doors are painted blue, and final exit doors are green. I don't know of any regs that specify a colour. We inform our staff at induction & refresher what colour doors are what.

I believe the short answer to your query (UK anyway) is "no". There are Equality Act requirements to have contrasting colours on stair nosings, ramps, changes of level etc. to aid the visually impaired, this could conceivably extend to ensuring a door-set stands out in contrast from the surrounding wall. Contrast is the key, colour is secondary. If you want to confirm contrast, look via a digital camera on black and white/greyscale setting

The factory is quite big, so downstairs on the factory floor the walkways are painted green to assist workers to stay in the safe zone, these also lead to the external fire exits as shown on induction training, this is our in house arrangement, which works very well, the green way is always the safe way
