S2 of HASAWA74 demands that employees receive info and training for their role. The Management Regs 99 reinforce training requirements. As far as I am aware, both these apply to the 4 parts of the UK. Health and Safety is a 'reserved' matter that Westminster still controls. The CIEH run a level 2 manual handling course. To register to run this course one needs a training qualification and either the CIEH Level 3 H&S qual, a EHORB recognised degree (or Masters) or the NEBOSH Certificate (or above). It is Ofqual accredited. Highfield ABC also offer a level 2 MHO course with similar requirements to deliver it.
