English translation of German health and safety law

This is maybe one for those European Health and Safety Managers out there.
I'm trying to acquire an English translation of German health and safety law/guidance.
We have a small German sales office and follow best practice based upon the UK, but I am aware of some quite distinctive German laws, particularly relating to occupational health and specialist assistance.
Does anyone recommended any books or publications that could be of useful reference.
Thanks,
Lyndon

Thanks Smitch This is a useful website and I wasn't aware of it, although I am looking for something more law specific. ie. provision of safety advisors and statutory health surveillance .

Lyndon As you may be aware, the German system differs considerably from what we have in the UK. The statutory insurance providers (Berufsgenossenschaften) play a major role in health and safety. You might find the following website of help: http://www.hvbg.de/e/pages/index.htmlAlso, where hazardous substances are concerned, there are several Technische Regel fuer Gefahrstoffe (technical regulations for hazardous substances) published by the insurance providers. Just Google TRGS and you will find these, often with an English translation. Chris

Lyndon, The Act which governs the employment of Safety Advisers is the "Arbeitssicherheitsgesetz (ASiG)" and the "ArbMedVV" is the Regulation on workplace medicals. Unfortunately I don't have a translation but if you want to know anything specific just send me a message.

Google is the answer to all you translation woes if you have the text in electronic form, or can scan it into a document.
Simply, copy - go to Google translate, select 'from German' and 'to English' and press the translate button. simples....
you will get a good translation that you are able to understand and make sense of. You just need to remember that the grammar will be literal, in that the manner the language is spoken in is the manner in which it will be translated, i.e. The ship was on the sea may equal, the sea upon the ship was... etc, but apart from that you get a good, free and accurate translation.

I would tread very carefully with google translate. The following sentence, taken from the Arbeitssicherheitsgesetz, describes one of the duties of a HSW Adviser:
"der Auswahl und Erprobung von Körperschutzmitteln"
and google translate misses one of the main keywords "Körperschutzmittel" (PPE!).
