We have been asked to provide a proposal and scope of services for the provision of H&S consultancy for a local college, can any members direct me to specific policies/ pieces of legislation/regulations that would better enable me to detail the scope? Also if there are any specific qualifications that would be expected? many thanks

My first questions would be What sort of college - secondary? tertiary? language student? What is the range of their curriculum? At one end of the scale it could be a secondary school, at the other end a university level with research. Their needs are very different.

Thanks Jane, it's a 6th form college, which no doubt means it covers the whole spectrum?

There is a wide range of information/policy docyuments of some colleges on the Association of Colleges (AOC) website. There is a good search facility! Alternatively you could contact them. http://www.aoc.co.uk/en/publications/

If you are providing training you will need a training qualification greater than train the trainer. Preparing to teach in rthe lifelong learning sector as a minimum - PTLLS SBH
