I have passed the Nebosh general cert, Nebosh fire safety and risk management both with credit and have recently passed the CIEH level 4 in Advanced Hygiene. I have just completed a fixed term contract with De vere Academies as a Health ,safety and wellbeing manager and I am finding it hard to gain employment. I live in the Wigan area and have transport. Can anyone advise me on the next course of action, I have registered with all the employment agencies and surf all job adverts daily. It seems the only way to get back into employment is to offer my services for free so my CV does not suffer. I am aware of the economic climate but employers still need to keep the work force and clients safe, so why is it so hard to carry on in the career I have chosen. All responses treated with the greatest respect. Thank you

Hi Latchy,
i am in the same boat, i live in the south east, i was until the end of last year a health and safety advisor for a large firm but was made redundant, i have applied for lots of positions and not even tried to count anything out, i will to go where the work is rather than sit around applying for jobs day in day out. Let me know if you do find anything suitable. kind regards and best of luck.
