Although the topic has been covered previously, there wouldn't appear to be a thread with a comprehensive response of what is happening accross the market.
I would be interested in generating an overview/comparison of what the various providers are charging consultants for PI.

Who do you use use, what is the monthly premium, and what amount of cover is provided?

Thanks, in anticipation.

To start the ball rolling, here's what I've got so far;
Trafalgar - annual premium circa £170 for £50,000 of cover, or annual premium circa £190 for £100,000 of cover.

Caunce O'Hara - annual premium circa £260 for £100,000 of cover.

Are you sure that's not public liability. Ross is after professional indemnity

Try IOSH extras,

Cost appears to depend on amount of cover and turnover but for £1m cover I was quoted £175 to £350 depending on turnover that I put in.

Take Care

Phil,

H & S consultancy £300.00
£1,000,000.00 Public Liability & £1,000,000.00 Professional Indemnity. I think it also depends on estimated turnover and/or single contract value. I require further cover outside of H & S consultancy which unfortunately Hiscox cannot supply.

For £1m PL and £50k PI came in at £203

You may need to be very careful about what you are or are not covered for..... if you give any advice on occupational health matters which may result in what is termed "bodily injury" eg asbestos you will probably find that these are excluded from PI policies at that sort of rates - always worth checking........

Regards

Bruce

A former colleague of mine paid circa £200 for her combined PL/PI cover. She worked full time as a HS&E manager and spent weekends / holidays / evenings / flexi days off doing private consultancy.
