What is the latest safety thoughts in the construction/demolition industry about using man baskets on telehandlers for work at height?

Sharks,
Is this in the similar situation of use of moving people by forklift in a purpose built basket?
If so I believe that this practice is only advised in exceptional circumstances and not as normal practice.

A very valuable document has just been released as a free to download from:
http://www.cpa.uk.net/p/Telehandlers/
PM 28 as mentioned elsewhere also gives all the information you need, take note in the new guidance document that it clearly states that "non-integrated platforms shall not be used on construction sites".

My interpretation of the various guidance available is that it is not deemed a good practice. However if you proceed with this man-basket approach you need to consider that the FLT / Telehandler doing the lifting becomes subject to a 6 monthly LOLER inspection as it is being used to lift people rather than the 12 month equipment inspection.
