I've been asked to take on some safety training - courses with a recognised qualification, and need to know what to charge?
I haven't delivered any training for about three years so if anyone can bring me up to speed on current fees I will appreciate it. Everything will be provided - training suite, presentation equipment, even the attendees and syllabus.
Not asking for what any individuals charge but a rough idea.

Chris, use your usual day rate x the number of days needed to prepare, plan, deliver and mark exams etc.

Do you have to pay for the venue? If so then add that to Stuff's comments above. We get quotes for anything from £600 to £1700 a day so a pitch in that area should be about right

Likewise going with £100 per head and a minimum of 5 on course, don't forget you need to take the venue and travelling / subsistence into consideration, it all adds up. Depending on the complexity of the course and if you are delivering an accredited course then you need to take into account accrediation fees. Hope that this helps and good luck.

Just to confirm - Are U a competent [proper academic qualifications + experience etc] trainer; as trainers are being held liable today for their training/results of their training
Best of luck

Thanks for the input everyone.
I just checked with my PI insurer and I am covered, they cover me if I am blamed for mistakes I may make, covers defending and compensation payouts.
Negligence is also covered.
The training would be a pre defined syllabus that I would follow to the letter - as there is an exam. I would not deviate therefore any issues would be the suppliers.
I have a training qualification and have delivered before, lots of presentation skills courses as well.
I also have lots of knowledge in the areas I would be training.
What's that you say - "those that can do - those that can't teach"
Everything will be provided including the venue and attendees. I will have to attend any courses I wish to deliver and pass the test myself - nothing like a little pressure eh?
Thanks

Hi Chris
I am looking at 'diversifying' and consider training as another string so to speak. If you dont mind me asking what training qualification do you have, what experience and what courses do you teach? Are the 'off the shelf' courses any good?

Don't know how far you are from Rochdale, James but you can do PTLLS (Level 3 or 4) at Hopwood Hall for £275 over 11 evenings (one a week)

Hi Frankc
I used to work in Rochdale and I now live about 25 minutes away.
I'll be looking into Hopwood Hall courses tomorrow.
Thanks for that mate
