Guru's recomendation is OK but I recommend:
"Introduction to Health and Safety at Work by Phil Hughes MBE MSc FIOSH RSP and Ed Ferrett PhD BSc (Hons Eng) CEng MIMechE MIEE MIOSH"
Available from that there on line book seller wot has the same name as that there long river in South America.
And then buy some examiners reports from NEBOSH.

I find Norman Selwyn: LLM, Dip Econ Barrister. CRONER: The law of Health and Safety at work a useful tool.
Currently using this for my studying. NEBOSH diploma.

Surely the most important publication is the syllabus. Only by referring to this will you know the scope of what you need to learn!

I agree introduction to health and safety at work is really good. Starting mine in a few weeks and have been reading this book a lot. Also is useful as a quick reference guide at work most of the time. Good Luck!!

Another vote for Betta's recommendation - I sat my Construction Cert in December after a few months' self-study and that book was the best laid-out and most comprehensive I used.
Good luck, Kofi
