I posted a request for some recommendations regarding accident investigation and report management software some time ago and am grateful for the helpful responses. However I am now in the fortunate position of receiving permission to source a more comprehensive software package to facilitate the management of a variety of H&S issues, including accidents, EHO safety inspections, audits, etc, and would be grateful for some similar recommendations. I work for a multi-site organisation with a relatively flat management structure and would require varying levels of access to between 75 and 100 members of staff. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

I work for a large national, multi site housing group and we use a system called EMEX (http://www.emex.com/index.asp).
Its a comprehensive on line system with modules for accident / incident management and investigation as well as modules for risk management, audit management, document management and so on. The system is hosted and supported by emex and we can log on via the internet from anywhere.
The company are based in Ireland with reps in the UK and have been really helpful in tweaking the system to suit our needs. They've worked closely with us to get the system up and running and to a point where it is delivering what we want. This sounds like a given for this type of product but we've tried a couple of different systems in the past and have found that once we bought the software the company would take the money and then not support us enough to get the system delivering the results we needed.
Happy to discuss further if you want contacts or more info.

I was at an event in Stirling ran by Scotlands Colleges last month and a representative from Posturite gave a demo of their accident reporting and investigation software. it may be the sort of thing you are looking for.
From what I remember you can set pre-determined access levels for staff depending on level of responsibility.
PM me if you would like contact details

The company I work for uses Rivo Safeguard; this was chosen after evaluation of several different packages and was chosen due to its user friendliness and the fact that the system can be set up/configured to use your own templates for assessments, audits, reports etc etc.
PM me if you want contact details.

I may have mentioned this before but a company in Ireland called EHASOFT do an excellent package covering A/I reporting and investigation, R/A, audits, environmental assessments, monitoring, waste menagement, non conformance, etc, etc. Altough based in ROI this company do some work around the middle east as well as other areas.
Might be worth looking at.

I used to use Target 100 from Business Safety Systems. I've not used other systems so cannot do any comparisons though.
It did strike me as a good, scalable system that could manage a single site through to a multi-site organisation. It also had good levels of accountability and reporting.
I think you can get a free trial on their website, just Google Target 100.

Martin, I used to work for Fusion Insurance Services who set up the Fusion Thinking system. It used to be given FOC to commercial insurance policyholders.
The system uses the Target 100 system I mentioned earlier plus an e-learning package from Safety Media. I think there was also some PPE management system as well but I left the company in 2008.
It was a well received system although it did tie you in to Fusion Insurance if you accessed it through them. I believe they then set up Fusion Thinking to offer it to non-policyholders for a fee.

Fusion Thinking is now a stand alone product, the system can be purchased for a fee. The system still offers safety media, PPE management and also has BCP, legal adice and online training

Congratulations on obtaining the funding! I evaluated a number of systems over the past year or so (search on 'safety management software' for loads) but then failed to have our bid approved (HE sector cuts and all that)...
I did come up with a few favourites which I will share privately if you want.
