Hi all,
I'm currently studying towards the NVQ 4 and have been advised to look at the Business Process, looking at Input, process and output. Ive looked at HSG 65 as advised by my tutor and i'm still struggling to grasp the concept, any assistance would be appreciated from anyone who has completed this element as part of Unit 613.
Cheers
Gareth

Gareth,
Try not to get confused with the term "Business process". In layman terms think of what you start with and where it ends! (Input to Output); Such as noise survey through to implemetation of control measures, the occurance of an accident leading through to the reporting, investigation and lessons learned etc
Provide evidence of that type of situation

The reference in the online version of HSG 65 on pages 40 & 41, diagrams 6 & 7 is an example of having risk control systems for a a manufacturing unit but goes on to state that the model also applies to other industries including construction, mines, universities, hospitals and local authorities
http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg65.pdf
It states that:-
"At the input stage, the aim is to minimise hazards and risks ENTERING the organisation".
"At the process stage, the focus is on containing risks associated with the process (imlpicitly in-house!)".
"At the output stage, the RCSs should prevent the export of risks off-site, or in the products and services generated by the business."
