I am just putting the finishing touches to a SSW for using powered pallet trucks. To say that operators, supervisors & managers don't think safety is their "problem" is an understatement! You can imagine my frustration. Anyhoo. At the moment I want to put a little piece at the bottom that goes along the lines of "Anyone caught operating the equipment in a manner that compromises safety will be shot at dawn!" I know that won't get past the MD. On a serious note. Does anyone put on a SSW that there may be disciplinary action taken is the SSW isn't followed? Thanks Andy

Tend to put it on safety posters rather than SSoW. It would certainly list the Do's & Don'ts on the SSoW but generally speaking not the sanctions, it's not the place for it IMHO. However, if it was a stable door SSoW who knows?

Have put on the SSOW before - "choc bar for anyone bringing this document to my attention" - still got a drawer full of choco bars!!!

Almost everything is a stable door situation. There was almost no H&S prior to me starting here, and I am fighting fires all the time. Hence my frustration. Do you have any safety posters with a person being hanged for not having any common sense???? So glad its Friday Andy
