If not could I ask: Do you ask your company vehicle drivers to carry out vehicle inspection checks? What frequency are these inspections carried out? What checks do they make? Does any one have practical examples of the frequency and types of vehicle checks we should ask drivers of our company vehicles to carry out that they are prepared to share with us. Mark

Hi Mark, I've sent you a PM with details of our pre-use checklist system we use for fleet vehicles. Hope it's of interest.

I cant speak for others Max but our operators go through this checking process as an integral part of their training; they get the chance to practice this during the practical and the written parts of the competency check at the end of the course. Also they are the ones on the truck most of the time so they get to know their vehicle (familiarisation breeds contempt??) and what to look for ie changes in condition.
